Marin County Towns and Cities
Marin County has 11 incorporated cities and towns. The rest of the county, including the whole Pacific coast, is unincorporated and governed directly by the County of Marin. Here they are the way locals divide the county, from the bridge north and then out to the coast.
Southern Marin
The first towns over the Golden Gate Bridge, on Richardson Bay and the slopes of Mount Tamalpais.
Central Marin
The county seat and the towns along Highway 101 and Corte Madera Creek.
Ross Valley
Small towns strung along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, between San Rafael and the open space.
North Marin
Novato and its open space preserves, at the edge of Sonoma County.
